MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre on Wednesday attended a ceremony marking the lifting of decades-long arms embargo on the Horn of Africa nation.
Mohamud promised that his authorities will construct the capability of the nation’s military and establishments chargeable for weapons administration to forestall potential diversion of deadly weapons to insurgents and clan militias.
“The lifting of arms embargo introduced with a brand new duty. The Somali authorities could have new establishments … which could have the duty to enhance the weapons and ammunitions administration system,” Mohamud stated.
