MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre mentioned his authorities is planning to recruit 40,000 new cops to take accountability for the safety of the war-torn Horn of Africa nation after the scheduled exit of African Union peacekeepers by the top of 2024.
Barre talking at an occasion within the capital Mogadishu acknowledged that half of the 40,000 cops will likely be recruited by the federal authorities and the remaining will likely be “ready” by the regional states.
It got here only a few months after Mogadishu requested a three-month suspension of the drawdown of three,000 peacekeepers scheduled for the top of September.
