MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre on Thursday departed for an official state go to to Iraq after receiving an invite from his Iraqi counterpart Mohamed Shia’ Al Sudani, his workplace stated in an announcement on X.
It comes weeks after Somali Nationwide Safety Advisor Hussein Moalim arrived in Baghdad for talks with Iraqi safety officers, in what Somali authorities say was meant to emulate Iraq’s expertise in counter-insurgency and mobilization of vigilantes within the battle towards Islamist militants.
Barre and his Iraqi counterpart will talk about efforts geared toward initiating cooperation on various forefronts, together with safety, his media workplace added.
