MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s Ministry of Overseas Affairs stated that technical groups from the federal authorities and the United Nations held their first assembly in Mogadishu on Saturday to debate the transition of UN political mission within the nation.
“Technical groups representing the Federal Authorities of Somalia and the United Nations convened their first assembly in Mogadishu on Saturday, June twenty second, to deliberate on the deliberate transition of the United Nations Help Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) to a UN Nation Workplace,” Somali Ministry of Overseas Affairs stated in an announcement on X.
“Technical groups have initiated talks to strategize a clean transition from a UN particular political mission to a United Nations nation group construction, signaling a pivotal part in Somalia’s growth trajectory.”
The Ministry pressured that discussions are anticipated to proceed for weeks with the intention of making a “clear timeline for gradual and orderly transition” that displays the nation’s progress in the direction of self-reliance.
