MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Authorities in northeastern Somalia’s Puntland state stated on Monday that a minimum of 20 ISIS militants had been killed in fierce clashes close to the industrial port metropolis of Bosaso, marking the primary important confrontation since regional safety forces launched a army operation towards the group final week.
The preventing erupted within the Dhaban’advert Valley, about 13 km from Balidhidin city within the Bari area, at roughly 8:00 am, in response to Mohamed Mohamud Ahmed, a spokesperson for Puntland’s safety forces.
The battle ensued after ISIS militants launched a multifaceted assault, using explosives, booby-trapped drones, mortars, and infantry, the official added.
The regional safety official confirmed that two troopers had been killed and three others wounded when their car was struck by an explosive machine throughout the assault.
