The Federal Republic of Somalia as we speak welcomed a high-level delegation led by H.E. Aisha Mohamed, the Minister of Protection of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, throughout her go to to Mogadishu on 2 January 2025. The delegation was obtained by H.E. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, the Minister of Protection of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
This go to is a part of ongoing efforts to construct on the progress achieved because the signing of the Ankara Declaration on 11 December 2024. It follows the go to of a high-level Somali delegation to Addis Ababa, led by H.E. Ali Omar , State Minister on the Somali Ministry of International Affairs.
In the course of the discussions, the Minister of Protection of the Federal Republic of Somalia emphasised the continued efforts to finalize the AUSSOM mission composition by simultaneous bilateral and multilateral engagements. He reiterated the Federal Authorities of Somalia’s dedication to honoring earlier agreements and expressed its willingness to contemplate Ethiopia’s request to contribute forces to the AUSSOM mission.
The Federal Republic of Somalia underscores the significance of those high-level bilateral discussions, which characterize a major step towards consolidating and selling regional stability, enhancing mutual belief, and reaffirming respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
In alignment with its steadfast dedication to the rules of the Ankara Declaration, the Federal Republic of Somalia reaffirms its dedication to implementing the agreements reached. It believes that the rules outlined within the declaration present a stable basis for rebuilding belief and fostering constructive cooperation that serves shared curiosity.
