Mogadishu (PP Information Desk) — The Federal Authorities of Somalia yesterday issued two conflicting press releases on relations with Ethiopia. One press launch targeted on the go to of Ali Omar, the State Minister for Overseas Affairs, to Ethiopia, whereas the second press launch pertains to clashes in Doolow between Jubaland Forces and the Somali Nationwide Military.
“Somalia has an unwavering dedication to deepening bilateral ties with Ethiopia,” reads a press assertion from the Somali Overseas Ministry relating to the go to to Ethiopia. The assertion was launched shortly earlier than stories emerged alleging that Somali Military contingents in Doolow attacked positions held by Jubaland Forces within the district.
Inside hours, the Somali Overseas Ministry issued one other press launch accusing Ethiopian peacekeepers of launching an “unprovoked and sudden assault” on positions held by the Somali Nationwide Military (SNA) in Doolow, situated in Gedo.
This incident comes only a week after the Federal Authorities of Somalia reversed its resolution to exclude Ethiopian forces from peacekeeping operations in Somalia beginning in 2025.
Whereas Ali Omar is visiting Addis Ababa, Somali Overseas Minister Ahmed Moallim Fiqi is in Cairo, the place he introduced that Egyptian troops would be part of the peacekeeping forces in Somalia in 2025.
