MOGADISHU, Somalia – Somali Nationwide Military (SNA) forces, in coordination with native troops, have efficiently pushed Al-Shabaab militants from the Geel-gub space within the Center Shabelle area, state media reported on Wednesday.
The operation, which started early within the morning, noticed troops launch a multi-pronged assault in town to grab management from the militants. Fierce clashes lasted for a number of hours, however the SNA regained management of the strategic space.
Studies counsel that Al-Shabaab suffered heavy casualties through the operation, which continues to be ongoing on the outskirts of Geel-gub.
This marks the second space to be retaken from Al-Shabaab since Monday. Earlier, Somali forces captured the city of Aboorey within the Hiiraan area following intense combating.
