Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Somali Nationwide Military, in coordination with native forces, launched a significant offensive towards Al-Shabaab militants who had infiltrated the Aboorey space within the Hiiraan area. The joint forces efficiently cleared the realm, forcing the militants to retreat. Pursuit operations are at present underway to trace down the fleeing insurgents.
This operation is a part of a wider army marketing campaign concentrating on Al-Shabaab hideouts throughout central Somalia. Current offensives have been reported in areas surrounding Runirgood district, and in Guulane and Ceel Cali Axmed in Center Shabelle, in addition to between Buulo-Burde and Jalalaqsi within the Hiiraan area.
