Dar es Salaam, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, delivered a keynote speech on the Africa Power Summit, outlining Somalia’s plans to boost power capability and high quality as a basis for the nation’s modernization and improvement.
The President highlighted Somalia’s huge renewable power potential, significantly photo voltaic and wind assets, which he described as future key sources for environmentally pleasant power manufacturing.
“The progress Somalia aspires to realize requires inexpensive and accessible power. Presently, 50% of our inhabitants lacks enough electrical energy. Due to this fact, we’re prioritizing investments within the power sector to allow the institution of industries, modernization of infrastructure, and enchancment of public providers,” he said.
Accompanied by Minister of Power and Water Sources Abdullahi Bidhan Warsame and Minister of Finance Biixi Imaan Egeh, President Hassan Sheikh invited worldwide stakeholders to put money into Somalia’s power tasks, emphasizing the nation’s untapped potential as a major and promising market.
The Africa Power Summit, attended by leaders from throughout the continent, concluded with the “Dar es Salaam Declaration,” a dedication to making sure entry to enough electrical energy for 300 million Africans by 2030.
