MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Not less than 33 pro-government fighters have been killed after Al-Shabaab militants ambushed them close to the city of Wisil in central Somalia’s Mudug area on Wednesday.
A senior military officer and officers with the Galkayo native administration have been among the many lifeless.
Al-Qaeda-aligned militant group Al-Shabaab claimed duty, saying it killed 58 troopers and seized three automobiles.
The assault occurred close to Shabelow forest between the city of Wisil and Ba’adwayn, a city which had been captured by authorities troops and allied clan militias just a few weeks in the past.
Not less than 10 pro-government fighters wounded once they have been mistakenly bombed by a helicopter believed to be operated by one of many Horn of Africa nation’s worldwide companions, a Somali military official advised Reuters information company.
