MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – The federal government of Djibouti is planning to host a gathering between the Prime Minister of Ethiopia Abiy Ahmed and the President of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud as a part of regional efforts to dial down tensions between the neighboring international locations, Djiboutian Minister of International Affairs Mohamud Ali Yusuf has stated.
In an interview with MM Somali TV, Yusuf stated the 2 leaders will meet in Djibouti as a part of talks brokered by the leaders of the Inter-governmental Authority for Improvement (IGAD), together with the Presidents of Djibouti and Kenya.
The talks observe one other assembly between the 2 leaders which had beforehand taken place in Kenya’s capital Nairobi, he added.
Mogadishu and Addis Ababa have decreased rhetoric heightening tensions over a port deal between Ethiopia and the breakaway area of Somaliland for the reason that leaders met in Nairobi a number of weeks in the past.
