MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) will hand over the safety accountability of the nation’s presidential palace in Mogadishu for the primary time in 16 years forward of the second part of the drawdown of its peacekeepers, Somali official mentioned on Saturday.
Somali Nationwide Safety Advisor Hussein Sheikh Ali mentioned that the African Union peacekeepers will vacate the palace and the workplace of the Prime Minister and parliament compound.
“SNAF & SPF will proudly take over the accountability of @TheVillaSomalia tmrw [tomorrow], marking a big milestone for the STP [Somali Transition Plan],” Sheikh Ali tweeted.
“Farewell and @ATMIS Somalia UPDF contingency who has been answerable for defending the Presidency, OPM and Parliament Home for the final 16 yrs.”
