MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Authorities within the break-away area of Somaliland on Saturday raised considerations concerning the lifting of 30-year-long arms embargo on Somalia throughout a gathering of the United Nations Safety Council on Friday.
“We imagine that lifting the embargo right now would have detrimental ramifications for Somaliland, the Horn of Africa area, and the worldwide group,” Somaliland authorities stated in an announcement.
“This raises critical considerations relating to the potential diversion of weapons to terrorist and extremist teams, additional destabilizing the area,” it added.
