MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Al-Qaeda-aligned Al-Shabaab militants on Tuesday attacked a military base in central Somalia’s Galgadud area, days after overrunning a army camp manned by Ugandan peacekeepers.
In an announcement, Somalia’s authorities stated troops had repelled the assault after receiving a tip from residents, including that 30 insurgents have been killed.
In the meantime, Al-Shabaab stated it had killed 73 troopers, seized army automobiles and captured quite a lot of prisoners. However there have been no unbiased affirmation of claims by each side.
