MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Authorities in northeastern Somalia’s semi-autonomous area of Puntland have mentioned they arrested the alleged ringleader of the pirates behind the hijacking of MV Abdullah, a Bangladesh-flagged ship.
The person was arrested within the central Somali city of Galkayo, months after receiving ransom cash from the ship which had been hijacked in March, officers informed native media.
The pirates earlier claimed that that they had acquired a ransom cash of $5 million in change for the discharge of the ship in April.
