MOGADISHU (somaliguardian) – Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud convened a safety assembly with Banadir regional officers and police commanders, days after he had promised to revive stalled offensive towards insurgents.
The assembly was attended by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, the mayor of Mogadishu, district officers and commanders answerable for the safety of the capital, who briefed the President about plans to safe town.
It comes forward of the assembly of Nationwide Consultative Council which is scheduled for April 20 and every week after the US warned of assaults at a number of places in Mogadishu.
