MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Ethiopian peacekeepers on Thursday handed over a navy base in southern Somalia’s port metropolis of Kismayo to Jubaland regional safety forces, Caasimada On-line information web site reported.
As a part of the scheduled drawdown of peacekeepers below the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), greater than a dozen ahead working bases have been handed over to the Somali safety over the previous months.
A ceremony was held in Kismayo attended by regional officers and ATMIS commanders to mark the handover of the bottom. Jubaland authorities stated joint regional forces and military items will take over accountability for the safety of the bottom and close by areas.
